How Windmill Uses Your Slack Integration

Windmill’s AI agent, Windy, lives in your Slack workspace and uses it as the primary interface for team interactions. Windy conducts conversational check-ins for 1:1 prep, pulse surveys, blockers, and retrospectives—all through natural Slack conversations. The integration enables Windy to:

  • Conduct 1:1 prep conversations with direct reports to gather agenda topics before meetings
  • Run pulse surveys and gather feedback through conversational threads instead of formal surveys
  • Collect weekly blockers by chatting with team members about what’s slowing them down
  • Gather continuous feedback by prompting team members after collaborations
  • Deliver AI-generated summaries and insights directly to managers via Slack messages
  • Track action items from 1:1s and surface them in follow-up conversations
  • Send reminders for performance reviews, feedback requests, and check-ins

Windy accesses channels where it’s been explicitly added and can direct message registered Windmill users. Your private DMs remain private, and Windy only has access to channels where the bot has been invited.
